Summary: A poem of why the author writes poetry

Baring my soul
Again and again,
Writing wherever
With some random pen,
Hoping to shake
My emotions in rhyme;
It’s worked before,
Will it work this time?
Great bursting happiness,
Sorrow and woe,
I put them all here
And, leaving them, go.
It works for a time
But then they return
And I write them again
To escape from the burn,
To put myself right,
One way or another,
So I will not be questioned
By dad, mom or brother.
